The technology platform is a combination of hardware (industrial scale) and software with advanced sensors and model-based controls that allow for intelligence decision making and the ability to efficiently operate a large facility with a small team.

We are seeking a Director of Engineering with experience in equipment design and production. This leader will play a critical role in establishing our client as the cutting-edge producer of industrial bioreactors and lead team(s) responsible for design, manufacturing, and rapid prototyping

You will bring engineering and operations leadership and know-how to a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and modelers, helping to establish a robust design and production process. The Director of Engineering will be a focused, adaptable, creative problem-solver, responsible for executing the planning and processes necessary to support our pilot- and industrial-scale launches (i.e., development, rapid prototyping, fabrication, deployment).

• Build, scale, and lead an engineering team focused on production of industrial scale equipment
• Oversee rapid prototyping, mechanics, instrumentation, automation, and integration
• Oversee supply chain, fabrication, and delivery of bioreactor products and facilities
• Build team capable of quickly delivering new, cutting edge products
• Work closely with OEMs, integrators, fabricators, and other key stakeholders
• Adhere to the safety and quality standards through product life cycles

• 7+ years of engineering and operations experience
• 3+ years of experience managing production processes and teams
• 3+ years of experience in biotech, pharma, food, or fermentation context preferred
• Strong business acumen and executive-level planning skills a must
• Experience working with OEMs and fabricators a plus
• Excitement to scale new technology from idea to massive scale
• Knowledge of equipment qualification processes, and various regulations / guidelines and compliance protocols a plus
