The Company:

A well-funded climate-tech startup is building software to accelerate renewable energy projects by solving grid-interconnection bottlenecks. They’re looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer — someone who thrives at the intersection of software, data, and real-world problem-solving.

The Role:

You’ll work directly with internal experts and external customers to translate complex energy-system workflows into production software. This role blends coding and consulting — building scalable data pipelines and tools while embedding deeply with users to understand how the grid actually operates.

You will:

• Own end-to-end projects from data ingestion to deployment.
• Work closely with domain engineers and customers to define technical requirements.
• Build and maintain Python-based data pipelines and APIs.
• Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate on new product features.

About You:

• 4+ years of software engineering or data engineering experience
• Strong Python skills; comfortable with SQL and cloud-based data workflows
• Curious about the energy transition and motivated to learn domain context quickly
• Enjoy direct collaboration with users and solving ambiguous, high-impact problems
• Previous experience in data-heavy, mission-driven, or early-stage environments (YC-alum & former Co-Founders highly encouraged to apply)
• BS in CS or related
