Overview

We are seeking a Director of Strategic Finance to join Graphyte’s Finance team. This person will play a critical role in leading the company’s capital formation strategy, strategic financial planning, and corporate finance activities during a period of significant growth. The Director of Strategic Finance will work closely with internal stakeholders and external capital partners to ensure Graphyte is well-capitalized and financially disciplined as it scales its project pipeline.

The Role

The Director of Strategic Finance will be responsible for managing capital raises, providing financial insight into operational decision making, and aligning capital strategy with project execution and long-term growth. This role requires strong financial modeling skills, structured thinking, and the ability to manage multiple complex financing processes simultaneously.

Capital Formation and Investor Management:

  • Lead day-to-day execution of future Series B+ capital raises from pipeline management to diligence to close
  • Manage existing project finance relationships and structures, while pursuing future non-dilutive capital partners
  • Manage investor and lender relationships, including post-close reporting and communication

Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Own company-wide financial modeling, including detailed project models, while providing strategic input on budgeting, forecasting and runway analyses
  • Align capital allocation with project pipeline and corporate growth strategy
  • Provide financial insight to support major strategic decisions

Company Leadership & Execution:

  • Support manufacturing, project development, technical and commercial teams with financial planning and analysis
  • Lead day-to-day finance workstreams across major company initiatives and financings
  • Partner with the leadership team to support company-wide decision-making and scaling efforts.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in finance, including early career experience in traditional finance (investment banking, private equity, project finance, corporate finance, or similar).
  • Experience in a high-growth startup environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading structured financing or fundraising processes, especially project finance in emerging clean technology.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex workstreams with attention to detail and reliability in delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with investors and Board members.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Passion for climate solutions; experience in climate, infrastructure, energy, or carbon removal strongly preferred.
